Governor Mike Parson joins the show ahead of reopening the Missouri economy. Almost all of the business (Casinos being an exception) in the state will be allowed to open on Monday.
The Governor says the majority of this reopening will be driven by everyday people using common sense. Most people won’t be willing to jump back into big crowds and businesses will have to adapt, but people want to help small businesses and they can’t do that if those businesses are forced to remain closed.
The Governor says he doesn’t have the authority to override local officials and force them to reopen; however, there are ways to apply political pressure.
Most areas of the state are over 40-50% on the decline. If you have an area that isn’t a hotspot, the Governor believes you have to gradually reopen.
