We need to have a really hard conversation about how and why our neighborhoods have become so dangerous. Defunding the police is one-dimensional and won’t fix anything if we don’t look at why and how we’ve gotten here as a society. We have to look at schools, churches, family structure, and figure out how we’ve gotten to this point. Where did the moral accountability, despite socioeconomic status, go?
