(KFTK) – Upset over the removal of monuments around the country, David Thomas Roberts took action. The Houston businessman and author started a non-profit called 2X Monuments.
He joined Randy to explain his mission.
"Right now we've counted 183 monuments since these protests have started that have been taken down, 183," says Roberts. "A majority have been by local governments under the guise of public safety."
Roberts says he's working to aquire the monuments.
"We have landowners that are willing to carve out a piece for public access for these monuments. We're in touch with alot of municipalities and trying to buy these monuments, but I'll be honest with you, a lot of them don't want to sell them, they want to mothball them," says Robertsl "they want them to go in a dumpster to never be seen again."
