(KFTK) – Independent Women's Law Center Senior Legal Fellow, Erin Hawley, joined Randy this weekend to discuss the Supreme Court decision to change their oral argument schedule.
This is, "quite historic," says Hawley of the court's decision to allow arguments via teleconference.
This change will likely lead to more transparency of the court as well, since audio of the arguments will be released, "and that;s the first time the court has done that."
"There's been huge pushes through recent years to hear televised arguments in the court, and a number of the justices are really opposed to that," says Hawley. "Justice Souter famously said, 'over my dead body' will there be cameras in the courtroom."
