Senior director of budget and tax research at Illinois Policy Adam Schuster said Illinois has had a horrible outmigration for quite some time now and the high property taxes have played a big role.
The latest data shows that Illinoisians pay the 10th highest lifetime taxes in the United States.
Adam Schuster says one of the most frustrating aspects of paying these high taxes is that nothing is given in return.
The state is continually asking for more with nothing to give those people back to make the taxes worth paying.
