Citizens for a Greater Downtown St. Louis are fighting to improve traffic and public safety

Les Sterman, Chairman of Citizens for a Greater Downtown St. Louis, joins Mark Reardon to discuss the efforts of the group to improve traffic and public safety in the City of St. Louis following the tragic events that altered the lives of many.

“Today I saw on Twitter that the crime and violence really aren't any worse than it's been. It's just that certain people are like me, I guess, are talking about it and that attitude really kind of troubles me. I mean, crime and violence aren't gonna go away if we don't talk about it. And, I mean, it's like someone's an alcoholic and you don't tell, you don't talk about the problem, you can never fix it,” shared Sterman.

Later he said, “This is actually a wonderful downtown. I mean, I live downtown, I've lived down here for 17 years. We can walk to every place, we can walk to the grocery store, the movies, the dry cleaners, and our local neighborhood park is a national park. I mean, how many people can say that we can walk to all the sporting venues? I did go to the soccer game on Saturday and it was spectacular. I mean, that's an example of what downtown St. Louis can be.”
