JEFFERSON CITY (KMOX) - Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt revealed on social media Thursday that he helped pull a man from a flipped truck on the highway.

Schmitt posted a photo of himself assisting a man, who appears to have a bloody face, out of a truck that's turned on its side on Interstate-70. The post doesn't say what time or when it happened.

"Scary scene today on Highway 70," Schmitt said in a Facebook post. "We were able to pull the driver out of his truck after it turned over and get him medical attention. No one was seriously injured. Be careful out there. Life can change in an instant."

He also thanked the Missouri Highway Patrol for quickly helping.

Earlier this year, Schmitt announced he's running for the US Senate seat in Missouri that will open when Sen. Roy Blunt retires in 2024. Others to announce their candidacy in the race include former Missouri Governor Eric Greitens and Reps. Ann Wagner, Jason Smith, and Billy Long.
