Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey directed a letter to the Missouri School Board Association (MSBA) urging them to call members and adopt a resolution "pledging to uphold Missouri law on human sexuality instruction in public schools".
The resolution comes after Columbia Public Schools brought students to the 2023 Columbia Values Diversity Celebration that included a drag show.
"We have seen this play out nationally and now it's happening right here in Missouri. We're not going to stand for it. We're going to empower parents to have a voice in their kid's education. And we're going to make schools about education, not indoctrination. That's why we're in this fight."
