CLAYTON -- Chief of staff for St. Louis County Executive Sam Page, Cal Harris, abruptly resigned Wednesday.
"I am resigning from my post in the Page administration effective immediately. I want to thank my beloved colleagues for their dedication and tireless effort to St. Louis County, as well as Dr. Page for entrusting me with this responsibility."
The resignation happened a week after law enforcement was asked to investigate a video of a county employee engaging in a sexual act at the county building.
Councilman Mark Harder, R-7th District, said in a news release that he “recieved an anonymous video on June 22 of a male county employee in a sexual act with a woman in what appeared to be an office on the executive floor of the county building in downtown Clayton,” according to St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Candidate for St. Louis County Executive Jane Dueker joined John Hancock, filling in for Annie Frey on The Annie Frey Show, to discuss the sex tape that is causing major controversy across local government.
“It’s something with county government. It’s broken fundamentally from top to bottom,” Dueker said. “There isn’t an area of county government that’s functioning properly. It’s embarrassing.”
