Illinois Speaker Mike Madigan's term has come to an end

State Representative Blaine Wilhour said the residence of Illinois can rest easy now that the lame-duck session is over.
Speaker Mike Madigan has finally been dethroned but what does it really mean for the general assembly?
Wilhour said the rebalancing of power and giving a voice to those who have not been heard in a very long time are positive takeaways among the very progressive legislature.
Madigan is gone but very progressive, detrimental legislation still remains. House Bill 163, otherwise known as the 'Police Reform' bill, was passed in the general assembly.
Wilhour explained why this is a bad policy and how it will change the way the state does law enforcement.
