The St. Louis County Council passed a resolution stating no confidence in St. Louis Police Chief Mary Barton.
The timing of the resolution is unclear.
“I would have hoped that had they had those issues with me – ongoing issues apparently, that they would have addressed them with me before taking such a public forum.”
Barton says she appreciates the members of the council who voted in her favor and welcomes fact-based constructive criticism. Barton says there is a racial divide in the department but says they have been moving forward, working with various programs and creating impactful partnerships and alliances.
