A brother, sister and her boyfriend are facing jail time after police busted them living with the corpse of their 86-year-old father for about nine months, all the while cashing in on his Social Security checks.

Genesee County prosecutors said Gregory Richard Baer, Jodi Elaine Baer, and Malcolm Lamont Roberts discovered the body of Donald Baer and did not inform anyone of his death. Authorities said they failed to tell law enforcement, a funeral home, or a 911 operator, as required by state law.

Prosecutors say that Flint police officers were dispatched to a home in the 2500 block of Brownell Boulevard on Sunday, Feb. 12, to conduct a welfare check on the older Baer. During their check, officers found Donald Baer deceased in his bed.

The trio was arrested by police.

Siblings Gregory and Jodi Baer were both charged with one count of concealing the death of an individual, a five-year felony.

Roberts, who is Jodi Baer’s boyfriend, was also charged with one count of concealing death as well as one count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony.

Gregor Baer and Roberts both appeared to court this weekend and were arraigned on their charges -- Jodi has yet to come before a district court judge.

Police say Jodie and her boyfriend Roberts were staying in a camper behind the home while Gregory stayed in the main home with his father's body.
