Several states in the U.S. are at least considering tightening the restrictions even further on driving after having consumed alcoholic beverages.
Utah has already lowered the legal blood alcohol limit from the current national standard of 0.08% to 0.05%.
Now a similar bill has passed the state senate in Hawaii and is being considered by the lower house.
Likewise a bill lowering the limit to 0.05 is in committee in the state of Washington.
Supporters of the change have said that lowering the limit would help prevent more deaths at the hands of drunk drivers.
Other countries, including many in Europe, have already lowered the limit to 0.05.
As it stands now though, even though the bills are making their way through two state governments, Utah is still the only state currently enforcing the 0.05 limit.
