One of the forum’s moderators, Doreen Ford, a 30-year-old dog walker, joined Fox News host Jesse Watters this week to explain what the "antiwork" movement means. The forum has more than 1.7 million members, gaining many amid the pandemic.

A statement on the r/antiwork page said, "We're closed while we deal with the cleanup from ongoing brigading." Brigading is when commenters spam a forum with abusive posts that go against the forum's general consensus.

The page's description states it's a place for "those who want to end work, are curious about ending work, want to get the most out of a work-free life, want more information on anti-work ideas and want personal help with their own jobs/work-related struggles."

In the Fox News interview, Watters asked Ford if the group is "encouraging people to be lazy?"

"We're a movement where we want to reduce the amount of work people feel they are forced to do," Ford said. "We want to put in the effort, put in labor, but we don't necessarily want to be in a position where we feel trapped ... It’s good to have rest, that doesn’t mean you should rest all the time or not be putting time into things you care about."

Watters asked Ford what they consider a solid work day to be. Ford said, "Whatever people want."

"I would love to take your class. Not everything is free, but it is a free country," Watters said.

The antiwork forum has been around since 2013 and has a slogan of “Unemployment for all, not just the rich!" The page was reopened to the public on Thursday morning.
