Douglas Ramsey, the Chief Operating Officer of Arkansas-based Beyond Meat, was arrested Saturday and charged with terroristic threatening and third-degree battery after he allegedly bit another man’s nose during a road rage incident.
He also allegedly “punched through the back windshield” of a Subaru.
Washington County, Ark., records show that Ramsey, 53, was booked at 11:14 p.m. Sept. 17.
According to KNWA/FOX 24 – a local station in the Fayetteville, Ark., area that first reported the arrest – officers were dispatched to Gate 15 Razorback Stadium around an hour before for “a disturbance that had previously occurred in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage,” following the University of Arkansas’ defeat of Missouri State’s football team.
Upon arrival, an officer found “two males with bloody faces.”
According to Beyond Meat, a company founded in 2009 that produces plant based “meat” products, Ramsey was hired in December.
Previously, Ramsey served as head of retail poultry operations for Tyson Foods, Inc. from May 2021 until December 2021. He served in various roles at Tyson since 1992, including president of Global McDonalds Business from January 2019 to April 2021. Ramsey received his BS in agribusiness/agricultural business operations from Southern Arkansas University.
A “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics” from Beyond Meat said the company does not “tolerate verbal or physical conduct that demeans another person, interferes with work performance, or creates an intimidating, abusive, hostile or offensive work environment.”
KNWA/FOX 24 reached out to Beyond Meat for comment on Ramsey’s arrest and have not received a response, said the outlet.
According to Washington County records, Ramsey was released from jail Sunday morning.
Records indicate Ramsey will be appear in court on terroristic threatening Oct. 19 and for third-degree battery Oct. 20. A $10,000 bond was set for the terroristic threatening charge and a $1,085 bond was set for the battery charge, per the records.
