A “popular” Tennessee soccer coach was arrested this week on charges of rape and child sexual abuse, according to the Franklin Police Department.

Police called the investigation into 63-year-old Camilo Hurtado Campos “heartbreaking” and said that detectives plan to file more charges against him.

Per a Sunday press release from the department, officers are working to identify victims who Campos allegedly drugged and raped. It said authorities were contacted by the staff of a local restaurant when Campos left his cell phone there. When they looked through the phone in an attempt to find its owner, they discovered “dozens of unconscionable videos and pictures of children.”

An investigation began immediately, and detectives confirmed that there were hundreds of “disturbing” videos and pictures on the device – including footage of Campos “raping unconscious boys between approximately 9 and 17 years old,” said police. These include footage of at least 10 boys and two have been identified so far.

Campos was a resident of Franklin for 20 years. He reportedly frequented nearby school playgrounds and approached kids to recruited them as players on his soccer team.

“After gaining their trust, Campos invited many of the kids to his home where he drugged and then raped them,” authorities said. Since they were unconscious, the victims might not know that Campos raped them, police added.

Authorities are seeking help from the public to identify the victims. Those who may have information about Campos and who he may have targeted can contact the Franklin Police Department at (615) 794-2513, or by emailing the department.
