
A year after a North Texas postal worker died of heat exhaustion, more than six-dozen Congressional Democrats have shot a letter to the head of the Post Office, demanding changes to protect mail carriers.
They want more protection from the heat at a time when a large portion of the country, including Texas, is facing record temperatures.
Congressman Greg Casar of Texas says they want the Postmaster General to implement a new OSHA proposal, which protects those who work outside. That means air conditioning for postal trucks, regular breaks and more available cool drinking water.
