Escaped inmate from Alabama arrested in Texas Buc-ee's

Police arrested an escaped inmate from Alabama at a Buc-ee’s in North Texas after they used advanced surveillance technology to track him down.

Pierson Anthony, 25, was spotted near the Buc-ee’s in Anna using Flock camera technology, Melissa police said. Officers stopped his vehicle as it exited the area and headed north on the frontage road.

During the traffic stop, officers discovered the driver of the vehicle had an active felony warrant for aiding Anthony’s escape. Both Anthony and the driver were taken into custody and are awaiting extradition to Alabama.

Anthony faces a third-degree felony charge, though details of his original charges have not been disclosed. Authorities have not released the driver’s identity or their relationship to Anthony.

Police credited the Flock technology for aiding in the arrest.
