A young girl is recovering from injuries suffered when she was run over in Fort Worth Monday evening, but officials say it could have been much worse.
Reports say the girl and a friend were in the parking lot at Chisholm Trail High School near Marine Creek Lake. The parent of one girl was there to pick her up and while climbing into the passenger seat, handed an item to her friend. Then the parent started to pull out of the parking spot not knowing the friend had dropped the item under the car.
As the girl reached under to get it, the car rolled onto her arm, briefly pinning her to the pavement. The driver immediately rolled off the girl and called 9-1-1.
The girl was taken to Cook Children's in good condition.
