Police in Round Lake Beach have provided more information about an incident involving the bomb squad being called to a Goodwill store over the weekend.

An employee found a hand grenade, police said, while going through donations at the store on Route 83.

Police responded and then called the bomb squad. The store was evacuated.

The grenade was inactive, according to police. The explosive portion was hollowed out, but someone put a plug over that area, so they weren’t sure what they had initially.
