After it got off to a rocky start on Monday night, Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign quickly jumped at the opportunity to slam former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk for a much-hyped appearance on X.

Musk and Trump sat down for an interview on Monday night on the tech billionaire’s social media site. However, the interview was delayed for nearly 45 minutes due to 'technical issues.' That left the door open for Harris’s team to take a jab at the pair.

“Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself — self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024,” the campaign wrote in a statement after the interview.

The Harris campaign was also quick to capture sound bites from the interview, posting them to its response page. Among the clips posted included Trump’s comments about global warming and rising sea levels creating “more oceanfront property.”

Harris’s team also clipped Trump praising Musk for firing workers after they decided to go on strike.

During the interview, Trump touched on a majority of his common themes for his sit-downs and rallies, including at one point when he said one of his first initiatives in office would be to close the Department of Education.

Harris’s team highlighted in its statement that closing the Department of Education is a part of Project 2025, claiming that Trump was behind the agenda making headlines.

“Donald Trump’s extremism and dangerous Project 2025 agenda is a feature not a glitch of his campaign, which was on full display for those unlucky enough to listen in tonight during whatever that was on X.com,” the Harris campaign said in its statement.

The interview with Musk comes almost a month after the Tesla CEO endorsed Trump following the assassination attempt on his life at a rally in Pennsylvania.

While talking with Musk, Trump said that Harris and Biden were “incompetent” while pushing his agenda on immigration, the economy, and the nation’s energy production.
