During her sometimes contentious sit-down interview with Fox News on Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris shared her opinion on several topics while vowing not to have a similar presidency to her current boss.

Harris sat down for an interview with Fox News’s Bret Baier as Election Day is now less than three weeks away. The vice president was asked several hot topic questions by Baier, and the pair often found themselves interrupting each other during the 30-minute talk. However, she did make it clear during her talk that if she were elected, the next four years would not be the same as the last four.

“Let me be very clear, my presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” Harris said, promising “fresh and new ideas.” The two sparred over several things, including opponent Donald Trump, who keeps claiming the U.S. is in danger from 'the enemy within' and saying the military may have to intervene. When Harris brought that up, Baier rolled a clip of Trump denying it, although it's been recorded at a variety of recent rallies.

“Bret, I’m sorry, that is not what he has been saying about the ‘enemy within’ that he has repeated when speaking about the American people,” Harris said. “That’s not what you just showed.”

Baier also asked Harris about immigration, and the pair found themselves going back and forth, talking over each other as they each tried to make points or push for an answer.

Among the questions on undocumented immigrants was one that some who have been released from custody have gone on to commit crimes.

“May I finish responding, please? You have to let me finish, please,” Harris said as Baier interjected. “I’m in the middle of responding to the point you’re raising, and I’d like to finish.”

Baier went on to play a clip of a mother who says her daughter’s death was the result of the Biden administration’s border policies. Two undocumented men from Venezuela have been charged with the girl’s death.

At one point, Baier asked Harris if she felt she owed them an apology.

“I am so sorry for her loss,” Harris said. “I am so sorry for her loss, sincerely. But let’s talk about what is happening right now with an individual who does not want to participate in solutions.”

The vice president was referring to a bipartisan measure that would have looked to address the border but was killed by House Republicans as former President Trump announced his opposition to it. The vice president then said that the situation needed to be fixed and did even during Trump’s presidency.

“We’ve had a broken immigration system, transcending, by the way, Donald Trump’s administration, even before. Let’s all be honest about that. I have no pride in saying that this is a perfect immigration system,” she said. “It needs to be fixed.”

Harris also appeared to backtrack on a position she once held in 2019.

“I do not believe in decriminalizing border crossings, and I’ve not done that as vice president. I will not do that as president,” she said.

Trump shared his thoughts on the interview in a post on X.

“Great job by Bret Baier in his Interview with Lyin’ Kamala Harris. She has a massive and irredeemable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME,” Trump wrote.
