Bombastic Trump Administration official Jeanine Pirro was seen leaving the West Wing with a white box after admitting the Lincoln Reflecting Pool rehabilitation went south because of shoddy workmanship.
That admission put her in direct conflict with her boss, President Donald Trump, who had loudly proclaimed over and over that vandals ruined the multi-million dollar project. His Department of Justice went so far as to arrest former Olympian David Hearn after he leaned over the pool and picked up a fleck of blue paint that had risen from the bottom, claiming he was one of the vandals.
But Pirro dismissed the case and admitted the was problem with the Reflecting Pool with the rushed, no-bid contract and not because of hooliganism.
Her admission, plus the white box sparked speculation about her future in the U.S. attorney role, especially after President Trump criticized Pirro for dropping the criminal case.
He called her actions a "disgrace."
Per the NY Times, Trump went on to say that he believed that Pirro was intimidated by an “unfriendly” and “vicious” judge, and he "lashed out at a reporter when asked whether he was reconsidering her role. He later ignored a question directly asking whether he was considering firing her."
So, despite the public clash and the box, Pirro was not fired during her visit to the White House aftr dropping the vandalism charges.
But Trump is reportedly still considering her removal.
“I guess she choked,” Trump said. “I don’t know what the hell happened.”
So, where would you place your bet? Prediction markets across the country suggest "a high likelihood" of Pirro announcing her departure before September 1.
