Pop star Madonna is recovering after spending several days in the hospital, her manager, Guy Oseary, announced in an Instagram post Wednesday.
She “developed a serious bacterial infection” on Saturday, which led to a several-day stay in the ICU, according to the post.
“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” Oseary said.
Her illness means “all commitments” will be put on pause, including her upcoming tour. The Celebration Tour was scheduled to begin July 15 in Vancouver.
Madonna, a Michigan native, is scheduled to perform at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Saturday, Aug. 5.
“We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows,” Oseary’s post said.
