Tucker Carlson mentioned that states are sending their National Guard troops to Washington DC.
Jim Carafano said this is completely inappropriate and a total waste of time.
"They may want to create a sense of fear in our capitol, like manufacturing some kind of threat," he said.
Carafano said he doesn't see how this level of theater is appropriate. When you look at the threat levels we have had in the past and not had this type of security, it seems like nonsense.
"We've had bombs in the Capitol and people storming the Capitol with machine guns," he said.
Carafano explained that keep the National Guard there took away that they could be doing more important work.
