Nutella is rolling out its first new flavor in more than 60 years with the nationwide launch of Nutella Peanut.

Ferrero North America announced the new spread on April 15. It blends the brand’s signature creamy hazelnut-cocoa base with the rich taste of roasted peanuts while keeping the same smooth, perfectly spreadable texture fans know and love.

The product is now available at major retailers across the United States in 13-ounce jars and 26.5-ounce bi-packs.

The launch marks a milestone for the iconic brand, which has sold essentially the same recipe since it was created in Italy in 1964.

Nutella Peanut was developed in response to years of fan requests for new varieties, especially in the U.S. market where peanut flavors are especially popular. It is produced at Ferrero’s facility in Franklin Park, Illinois, in a dedicated line to avoid cross-contamination with other Nutella products.

To celebrate the release, Nutella is hosting its first-ever Nutella Peanut Pop-Up in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood on May 16 and 17 at 372 Lafayette Street. The free, open-to-the-public event features interactive games, prizes, personalized keepsakes and free samples of the new spread on sandwiches and snacks.
