Should the SCOTUS leaker’s identity be revealed?

The leak of the possible decision to overturn the highly controversial case, Roe v. Wade, sparked strong reactions across the nation when the draft was made public back in May. The leak then prompted an investigation to find the person who betrayed the inner-sanctums of the court.

Members of The Annie Frey Show – Annie Frey, Ryan Wiggins and Brad Range – debate the question: Should the SCOTUS leaker’s identity be revealed?

According to Wiggins, the information should remain within the convides of the court: “It should not [be made public] because that was the whole purpose of the leak. It should’ve been internal to begin with; therefore, it should continue to be internal.”

Annie and Brad, on the other hand, don’t agree. The duo questions their ability to blindly trust that the government is telling the truth if they don’t release the betrayers identity.

“There is not an inch of bureaucracy in Washington, D.C. that I trust right now with private information,” Annie said.

“I think we need to know who this person is…and I think they need to be made an example of. We need to set an example and set a standard that says, if you do this, it’s going to cost you big,” Brad adds. “If that happens within the organization, that doesn’t make a statement to anybody who’s thinking about going into that.”
