On the heels of a weekend of flight cancellations, leadership analyst Tom Finegan weighed-in on the challenges facing Southwest Airlines.
"It was certainly a rough weekend for Southwest," says Finegan. "Customers, a bunch of employees were stranded as well. Its a tough conundrum. I think the issues that faced Southwest are probably a combination of a number of things. And clearly management did not have enough slack in the system to accommodate any blip. And when you have a blip, regardless of the cause, in the airlines they need to figure how to alternate staff and alternate source of their equipment. And they just could not get that done."
