An armed robber was left wishing he had driven to a different gas station after his attempt to grab and go was thwarted by a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who happened to be there at the same time, authorities say.

With gas station cameras capturing the whole thing, the juvenile thief entered the Arizona gas station with a gun in hand on Wednesday.

With the gun pointed at him, the U.S. Marine Corps veteran lunged at the teen with one hand, successfully stopping the threat.

The incident happened at a Chevron gas station at around 4:30 a.m., the Yuma County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

The footage of the incident was released by the sheriff's office, showing the man's heroic moment.

In the video, you can see three suspects walking into the gas station; the first is met by the Marine, the second falls to the ground and runs out, while the third doesn't even enter the store after seeing what was happening.

The release also stated that the Marine Corps veteran disarmed the thief successfully and detained him until law enforcement arrived.

"The Marine Corps taught me not to [mess] around," the veteran told deputies who arrived on the scene.

There weren't any injuries reported, and the name of the former Marine has not been released. The detained suspect was booked in the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center on one count each of armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Deputies are still looking for his two companions who fled the scene.
