A bystander is being dubbed a hero in Los Angeles after a video showed him stopping a stroller carrying a child from rolling into oncoming traffic earlier this week.

Surveillance footage caught the heroics of Ron Nessman, who stopped the stroller as he watched it rolling into danger from his bench outside a nearby carwash, CBS Los Angeles reported.

The full video shows a woman in her sixties getting the stroller set up with her great-nephew inside when it begins rolling away into danger.

While she rushed to save him, she tripped, falling on her face, leaving her in horror as she watched and struggled to her feet.

“She sees the child going into the street, and that’s all she sees,” Nessman told CBS LA. “She can’t do nothing.”

That’s when the man stepped in, jumping up from his seat to stop the stroller and save the baby before the blowing wind pushed him in front of the speeding cars on Monday in the city of Hesperia.

“I seen her, and I felt so bad for the lady,” Nessman said. “I got nephews and nieces, and I couldn’t imagine something like that.”

Nessman shared with the media outlet that he had just finished a job interview when he was sitting on the bench, and he knew that if he didn’t intervene, he wouldn’t have been able to live with himself.

“I’m just glad I realized it and was on it,” he shared.
