Off-Duty Fire Captain Saves Daughter After Devastating Crash

St. Louis Fire Department Captain Jake Brockmeier was off-duty when he received a Life360 notification alerting him that his daughter, Alyssa Brockmeier, had been involved in a serious automobile accident.

Arriving first on the scene, Captain Brockmeier found Alyssa critically injured and unresponsive.

Before emergency crews could arrive, he removed his daughter from the vehicle and began providing lifesaving care.

Alyssa's recovery has touched many throughout the St. Louis first responder community. She is also the niece of St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department Sgt. Michael Simpson.

The Marc Cox Morning Show spoke with Sgt. Simpson:

Alyssa survived the crash but her journey is far from over. She faces extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation. A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help support Alyssa’s road to recovery and allow her parents to stay by her side. Every donation, share, and prayer provides meaningful support as Alyssa continues her fight to heal.
