With a government shutdown on the horizon, many are wondering if the massively expensive, 3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill being pushed by the left is really worth it. Nancy Pelosi has been pushing hard for it. Senator Bernie Sanders has gone on record supporting it, calling it the one hope for America. Others disagree.
“The idea is the government takes our money from us they use that money to solve our problems,” says Fox News Contributor Deroy Murdock. “Except whatever they get involved in they usually screw things up. Problems continue except now the money’s been taken out of your bank account.”
The goal is to get the bill through sometime this week, but according to Murdock, spending more money will appease far left Democrats, but even more moderate Democrats are trying to get the price tag lowered. In turn, far left Democrats won’t be happy, and will continue to push hard for the 3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill.
“This is kindergarten level of understanding economics,” says Murdock. “I don’t know how you can propose a 3.5 trillion dollar bill and not even raise enough taxes to cover it.” Even if the taxes did cover it, the bill would still be paid for with money that had to be taken from the people, according to Murdock.
“Ultimately it may not work and if the whole thing sinks into the Potomac River, it’d be the best thing for this society possible.”
Deroy Murdock joins Annie Frey to break down the bill that has even Democrats split.
