OPINION: Forget housing migrant kids, now we're letting them fend for themselves

How would you like to drop your kid off in a random country- any country- say, "good luck, little buddy," and hope for the best? That's what you voted for in 2020 if you voted for Biden.

This White House's dereliction of duty on the southern border is well documented, but somehow continuing to get worse.  Nearly 2,000,000 illegal entries into the United States happened in 2021 (that we know of), and now, barely over halfway through the year, that number has already been eclipsed for 2022.  With over 4,000,000 illegal immigrants now moving into the U.S. in the last 1.5 years, the numbers get overwhelming.

So let's just look at the kids.

After all, that was the big complaint, right?  Kids in cages?  Even though they weren't cages, but were more like tiny modular housing facilities, they still had shelter and food while they waited.  And there were a lot less.

In our last normal months of January and February of 2020, the number of unaccompanied minors and single children with no parent/guardian crossing into the U.S. was 3500 per month.

Immediately upon Joe Biden taking office, that number jumped to 9600 per month in February of 2021.  It has risen steadily ever since.  Now, the number of children crossing into the country alone is 15,000 per month.

You just can't handle this amount of people humanely.  No matter how hard Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona try.  They don't know what to do.  And so, there are now 15,000 new children roaming our country with no parent and no idea what is happening to them, every month.

Forget "kids in cages."  There are too many to help, of all ages.  So forget about them, because the decision makers- the very ones who yelled about kids in cages when it was Donald Trump, and can do something about it now- are choosing very deliberately to forget about them now that there's nothing to be gained from the slogan.
