Biden’s plan to run for office again in 2024 now comes with the condition that he must be in good health, which is an edit to a promise he made in 2020 that he serve eight years if elected. The White House assures us that Biden/Harris will be back again in 2024, but a report from the Wall Street Journal suggests the pair haven’t even discussed it.
“Either they’ve had a conversation, or they have not,” says Political Strategist Ashley Smith Thomas. “There’s this really strong disconnect that we’re seeing.”
ABC’s World News Tonight asked Biden in an interview about reelection, and said he would, but it was all up to fate; his health will be the determining factor. These new statements only reaffirm Americans’ skepticism of not only Biden’s physical health, but his mental capacity as well.
“If you look at what happened during the Trump administration, people were questioning his mental capacity,” says Thomas. “He went ahead and went through testing to prove that he was mentally fit and capable of being president. Why are we not seeing that same treatment applied to Biden?”
Thomas cites recent press conferences and appearances at G20 as evidence of his embarrassing performance as of late.
“They talk about reestablishing our good standing with foreign nations, but I haven’t seen it. Especially after what happened with Afghanistan.”
Ashley Thomas Smith joins Marc Cox to talk Biden’s possible 2024 reelection for President Biden and the likelihood that he and Kamala Harris will run at all.
