When Donald Trump was in office, opposition against him both in and outside the country was very vocal, especially in Europe. Now that Joe Biden has taken office, a lot of the supportive talk has begun to dwindle down.
“The world wants concrete leadership,” says Jim Carafano, foreign policy expert at the Heritage Foundation. Carafano states one of the biggest issues is the Democratic Party’s tendency to talk rather than act. “They don’t really give a damn what we say. They want to see us sweat and do stuff.”
Carafano explains the if the United States isn’t doing anything that could benefit American allies as well as America herself, then support for the leading administration could be misplaced.
“When we do stuff that’s good for us, it winds up being good for them and they benefit from that. That’s what [our allies are] really looking for.”
Jim Carafano joins Mike Elam on the Marc Cox Morning Show to dive deeper into the current administrations strain on America’s reputation with her allies.
