In October, the National School Boards Association wrote a letter to the Department of Justice requesting upset parents be investigated as domestic terrorists. Jonathan Butcher, the Will Skillman Fellow in Education at The Heritage Foundation, says that it was known shortly after the letter came out that it was prompted by the White House.
Now a newly surfaced email implicated the Education Secretary.
"The National Schoolboards Association is the special interest group for School boards and they share a lot of the same goals as the Teachers' Union," says Butcher, who is nominated to serve on the board of the South Carolina Public Charter School District.
Butcher says that the difficulties of COVID and the implementation of CRT in classrooms have parents justifiably upset. However, there is hope on the horizon.
Butcher claims that many school boards are adopting resolutions that make curriculum transparent and have rejected any manner of discrimination in the classroom.
Butcher's full interview is available on the podcast or in the audio above.
