Carafano: 'In the 18th-century muskets were assault weapons'

The Heritage Foundation's Jim Carafano reacted to the mass shooting in Highland Park Illinois. The shooting, which left seven dead and 47 others injured, is being used by some to push further gun control. Carafano, who is an army veteran, pushed back on these calls.

"I'm not really sure what the heck the governor is talking about other than doing what every liberal politician does, which is to take out the standardized talking points, which obfuscate the reality of public safety and the rights of gun ownership to push a political agenda," said Carafano.

Carafano suggested that The Constitution and 2nd Amendment are nothing more than speed bumps. Instead of blaming the weapon, Carafano pointed out that all of these shootings were public safety failures. He detailed these failures in the interview which you can find on the podcast or in the audio above. Don't forget to download the Audacy App so you never miss an installment of The Annie Frey Show.
