Edwardsville parents claim students put in 'illegal isolation chambers' over mask policy

Ryan Cunningham, founder of Speak for Students, has brought forth a lawsuit to challenge Illinois Gov. Pritzker's executive order mandating masks in schools.

This lawsuit currently involves 146 school districts in the state. The organization is awaiting a ruling from a Sangamon County court which is taking longer than expected. In the meantime, parents organized a protest against the mandates by sending their students to school without a mask.

One local district responded to this protest quite drastically.

"In the Edwardsville school district, they took it a step further," says Cunningham, "they took these perfectly healthy children and put them in very small, what I would call, isolation chambers."

Cunningham alleges these 6th grades students were put in 2-feet by 4 feet chambers and isolated from everyone. Cunningham does not know how long the students were isolated in these chambers. However, he says the students did record their circumstances and contacted their parents. You can find the full interview in the podcast or by listening to the audio above.
