Enrollment in charter schools has increased across the nation; meanwhile, enrolment in government-run schools has significantly declined.
There is also a nationwide push for funding students not school districts.
Corey A. DeAngelis is the National Director of Research at the American Federation for Children. DeAngelis says charter schools have to cater to the needs of families because they don’t have the geographic monopolies that public schools have. Listen to his discussion with Annie above.
