Former EPA administrator and Chairman of America First Policy Institute’s Center for the Environment believes this was virtue signaling to European nations at the cost of American energy access; a move that continues to increase the cost of fuel and natural gas.
“Their energy policy is driving up cost of domestic energy in the medium and long term, under the guise of climate change. They want Americans to pay more for energy,” says Wheeler.
Meanwhile, talks of a $3.5 trillion spending bill are underway. The Biden administration claims passage of the bill will not raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000 per year.
Wheeler calls this a “fallacy” and explains that the bill includes penalizing states based on their natural gas, oil and coal usage, ultimately rising costs of gasoline prices and home heating.
