President Joe Biden issued a proclamation calling for flags to be lowered to half-staff in honor of federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have died or been injured in the line of duty.
An updated proclamation was released on the eve of Peace Officers Memorial Day stating the flags would remain at half staff.

The Biden administration realized too late that Peace Officer’s Memorial Day coincided with Armed Forced Day in 2021.
According to the U.S. flag code, “The flag shall be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day, unless that day is also Armed Forces Day.”
