Biden’s Department of Education expanded protections under Title IX. Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance.

The “Final Rule” under Title IX includes changes to the definition of “sex-based harassment” and will impact primary and secondary schools and institutions of higher education.


Missouri Governor Mike Parson released the following statement:

 “The Biden Administration’s new Title IX rules are a disaster and totally disregard the rights of women and girls everywhere. It’s radical; it’s unsafe; and frankly, it’s unconstitutional. Biological males do not belong in female-only spaces. That’s why we signed SBs 39 and 49 last year protecting women’s and girls’ sports and preventing harmful experimental surgeries on Missouri kids. We join Attorney General Bailey in continuing to fight back on this radical transgender ideology being pushed by the Biden Administration.”

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has filed a lawsuit to halt the changes set to take effect on August 1, 2024:
