Irvin looks to turn Illinois red

Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin recently announced his candidacy for Governor of Illinois. Raised in a single-parent home, Irvin joined the military and served in the Gulf War. Irvin then put himself through law school and became a prosecutor. He says his unique life experience allows him to bring a different perspective to the table.

"I love my country, I love my state," said Irvin.

When asked about the claims that he is a new Republican, Irvin was quick to point out that, Obama, Duckworth, Durbin, and Madigan all consider him a Republican and have campaigned against him in previous races. To hear where he stands on the 2nd Amendment, abortion, defunding the police, and a host of other issues, you can listen to the podcast or the audio above.
