Former Missouri State Senator John Lamping is encouraged by the involvement he's seeing in local politics, especially local school boards.
"One of the things that makes me the most optimistic about the circumstances we find ourselves in today, is whats going on in these school board meetings. When ordinary people who'd otherwise just like to be living their lives, taking care of their families, and getting up and going to work every day, when they have to stop their lives and get involved in politics, school board issues are political these days. That to me is very encouraging," says Lamping.
Lamping says the importance of involvement shows up when it comes to curriculum as referenced in a recent USA Today piece.
