Eric Nelson, the lawyer for former Minnesota Police Officer Derek Chauvin, moved for a mistrial after Rep. Maxine Waters called for protesters to ‘get more confrontational’ if the jury did not deliver a guilty verdict on the charge of murder in the first degree.
Judge Peter Cahill denied the motion but candidly admitted, “I'll give you that Congresswoman Waters may have given you something on appeal that may result in this whole trial being overturned.”
