Former Missouri State Senator John Lamping says the rule of law is important in the state of Missouri, however, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann could do more to push back and lessen the quarantines in the school systems.

State statute gives local authority to local health departments. If schools have a mask mandate, they can avoid having to quarantine kids who have been exposed to COVID and keep them in schools.

Lamping says Elhmann is probably right as far as the law is concerned but believes the St. Charles County Executive should be pushing back on the law and applying pressure to Governor Parson to make a change.
