Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe has officially announced he is running for Governor.
Kehoe is a St. Louis native who spent 30 years as a small business owner in the state; operating car dealerships and a first-generation farm.
"Continuing on the theme of infrastructure and workforce development will be a major part of what we try to do."
But the top issue for Kehoe's campaign will be crime.
"We've got an incredible amount of investment there in the downtown area, the new soccer stadium is absolutely fantastic, people go there but they've got that in the back of their mind, they're worried about getting to their car... We want to make sure streets are safe."
Kehoe says he supports the state regaining control of the St. Louis Police Department.
"State control would do a lot of great things to help the men and women in blue, specifically in the City of St. Louis there, kind of get back on their feet and get to where they need to be as far as resources."
