Missouri Senator Rick Brattion (R – Dist. 3) proposed a bill that would make it a Class E felony for protesters who interfere with, or block, a public road. The legislation includes protection for drivers if protesters are harmed in the process.
Brattin explains the bill is about protecting constitutional rights.
“Because you’re mad, you don’t get to infringe on other’s rights,” says Brattin.
The bill also addresses local law enforcement budgets, crimes against EMS, use of force during protests and more.
