“I got in this race because I didn't think that he announced candidates were up to the task of representing our county in the Senate. We've got some serious problems in the state, one of the biggest ones is crime. There's nobody that the voters seem to trust more when it comes to fighting crime, at least based on the polling we've seen, than than me. But that's not the only issue I care about, you know, I staunchly in favor of controlling the border traffic, this runaway, illegal immigration, that we have really breaking havoc with our economy,” shared Roorda.

Later, he commented on Roe v Wade, “I've been pro life my entire life. My mother got pregnant when she was 16. I'm glad abortion was illegal then. And I'm glad it's illegal now. I applaud the decision and I'm glad the court finally rejected this, this sort of made up reasoning for creating this right to privacy when it comes to destroying life in utero. It just never was the law. It's never what the constitution said. And I'm glad that the court has finally reversed itself on that.”
