The US economy seems to be heading towards a recession.
Historically when inflation is above 4% and unemployment is below 4% a recession has followed within two years. Senior Economic Contributor at FreedomWorks, Stephen Moore, says that a recession can be avoided if the government takes a few simple steps. However, he is not convinced that Democrats will take those steps.
"All they want to do is spend and spend and spend and tax and tax," says Moore.
Stephen Moore was quick to point out that the Democrat's tax and spend mentality put the US in its current position. He explained that they subscribe to modern monetary theory which argues the United States can print and spend money without consequences. Moore says that initially the theory was mocked in economic circles. For Moore's full thoughts listen to the podcast or the audio above.
